China Labour Contract Law (LCL) implemented

With the arrival of 2008, The China Labour Contract Law (LCL) has been implemented and has been completely successful in its integration at Goodway. Taking effect immediately, the LCL has advantages for both employees and employers.
Some of the advantages for employees include clarity on issues such as the method of calculating severance pay, the length of probationary period and the consequences of employers’ refusal to sign written labour contracts. While for employers, things such as the introduction of a cap for the calculation of severance pay and expanded circumstances for economic lay-offs are highlights from the employer perspective on the LCL.
